Marburg virus disease in Ethiopia
On 14 November 2025, an outbreak of Marburg virus disease was reported in Jinka Town, South Ethiopia Regional State. A total of nine suspected cases and six deaths have been reported, including two fatal cases in health workers. This is the first Marburg virus disease outbreak reported in Ethiopia.
